Keklik hunting in Uzbekistan. One of the most fascinating, challenging and unusual types of hunting in Peru around the world is grouse hunting. These birds live in Central Asia almost proportionally, they can be called cosmopolitans of the bird population of Asia. The article will focus on the hunting of the stone partridge in Uzbekistan.

Flocks of birds make vertical migration in the mountains of the watering hole every day. They drink, as a rule, once a day and only in a particularly hot period can they go down to the water in the afternoon. After watering, each flock begins to climb the mountain, while actively feeding. As a rule, hunters find birds already on the rise during their active feeding. The presence of cupcakes is determined by the fresh litter that sits on its way up. Having climbed the slope of the mountain, which the stone partridges have chosen for themselves, hunters begin to hide the birds, then hiding from them behind the folds of the terrain, then appearing in open places. The closer the location and the faster the warehouses, the more successful the hunt is. In an unexpected case, her whole being arose from behind a mountain fold. The distance for the shot, as a rule, is as comfortable as possible — from 10 to 30 meters. Birds may not fly out at the same time. The main party of them will fly out after the first shot, but the most seasoned ones will appear on the spot and, having missed the hunter behind the line of fire, will fly out behind him with a scream. This is, one might say, a kind of survival tactic. In the mountains, fluttering keklikas are often found, here they arrange holes in which sand and dust are bathed, cleaning operations and getting rid of parasites. So, an experienced keklik hunter considers that this is the main mass of birds due to his primary construction of an additional horizontal route on the lifting slope.

Moving along the slope, dropping the height a little, and then gaining it, is not so difficult, even an elderly person can do it. Of course, it is desirable and even necessary for a dog to participate in such a hunt, because it is extremely difficult to find a captured bird without it, and the reason for this is the protective coloration of the cupcake from the back. If a dead grouse is lying with its back up, it is almost impossible to take it. If it falls on its back, it can be distinguished by its bright red paws and black stripes on the sides of the body. The locals are trackers, they always remember the good points of falling of a broken cupcake and confidently go to an observant tree, a noticeable bush or a stone. There are always feathers of a bat bird in the place of the fall, and you can quickly find the trophy itself.

AT THE WATERING HOLE  

Hunting near springs in the hot season is also traditional in Uzbekistan. This method is based on temperature and climatic conditions and can probably be used only in Central Asia — from July to August in springs from which wild animals and birds drink. When there is little water left, and some springs dry up altogether, the keckliks begin to move in search of a watering hole, and as a result, quite large flocks arise. They don't shoot cupcakes here, they form loops around the spring. A kind of square is stretched on small sticks around the spring, on each side of which there are from six to eight loops that practically overlap one another and are located at a distance of 10 cm from the ground. When attaching the cupcakes to the watering hole, make loops. This kind of hunting is very profitable. The captured partridges of the locals consist of special enclosures and cages made of willow twigs (this is related to art). A cage with a singing male is hung in the garden, on the roof with Gauze, and sings his songs all day long in the hope of finding a soulmate.
